
Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today paid a surprise visit to Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar and took stock of the facilities available to the patients there.
The Minister issued on-the-spot instructions to the Medical Superintendent to maintain proper sanitation in and around the hospital and facilities like proper sitting arrangements for the out-door patients and attendants. He also asked for starting computerized registration of outdoor patients for proper record and to avoid delay.
Mr. Sharma stressed upon the hospital authorities not to refer cases of routine nature to Government Medical College, instead they should be treated in respective hospitals which they attend initially, adding that all necessary facilities exist in those institutions. He said that referral system would be monitored by the senior doctors. For catering the emergencies, he asked the Director Health Services to arrange one special ambulance, fitted with necessary equipment to deal with critical patients.
To give aesthetic look to the hospital park, the Minister asked the Director Floriculture, Jammu, to utilize the vacant space with ornamental plants and ensure proper upkeep of the park. He also asked for undertaking some minor repairs of hospital building wherever required. Later the Minister also inspected the Green Belt Park and Flower Nursery at Gandhi Nagar. He asked the Director Floriculture, Jammu, Mr. K.K.Sharma to strengthen the mechanism of cleanliness of all the parks situated in and around the Jammu city.
Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. Jasbir Singh, CMO, Jammu, Dr. Shahid Mugal accompanied the Minister.
