90 kanals of land identified, Rs. 26.78 cr to be utilized in Phase 1
Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah today reviewed the proposed Ganderbal District Hospital and issued instructions for completion of formalities, including land acquisition, so that work on the construction takes off soon. He fixed a timeframe of two years for completing the first phase of the 200-bed hospital.
The Chief Minister directed District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal to speed up process of acquiring land for approach road to the proposed hospital so that JKPCC starts work immediately on the project.
Commissioner/Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Atul Dulloo and Managing Director, JKPCC, Mr. Dalip Thushoo besides other senior officers were present in the meeting.
In a power-point presentation, Mr. Dulloo stated that Rs. 26.78 crore are being utilized on the construction of first phase of the hospital complex for which an area of about 90 kanals of State land has been identified. He said under the first phase, besides other facilities, the hospital would have 100-bed capacity for indoor patients. Another 100 beds would be added in the second phase of construction.
The district hospital will have departments of emergency, OPD, IPD, administration and CSSD in the ground floor. The diagnostic, imaging, blood-bank, neonatology and maternity units would be housed in the first floor while as OT, ICU and post-operative blocks and wards will be kept in the second floor. The third floor will comprise wards.
The hospital will also have facilities of microbiology, biochemistry, haematology, histopathology, microscopic testing, public health and AIDS control units besides anesthesia, surgical and de-contamination units.
