Minister for Forest and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad has stressed upon the officers to ensure implementation of the policy decisions taken by the government at the operational level so that the common masses get duly benefited.
Chairing the 61st meeting of Board of Directors of J&K Forest Corporation here today, the Minister has called upon the officers of the corporation to effectively streamline the working of the corporation so that the miss-match between supply and demand of timber is done away with. He said that the distribution of timber needs to be operationalised in such a way that the consumers get the same with out any hindrances.
The meeting among others was attended by Commissioner/Secretary Finance, Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner/Secretary Forest, Mr. Shant Mano, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Mr. Irshad Ahmad Khan, Chief Conservator of Forest, Mr. Shafat Ahmat and MD State Forest Corporation, Mr. Abdul Qayoom Khan.
The Minister asked the concerned officers to expedite the extraction process so that timber is available at the sale outlets of the corporation well in time. Stressing for close liaison between the management, employees and contractors Mian Altaf said that by taking such a step the functioning of the Corporation would ensured more effectively.
The meeting also discussed threadbare revision of schedule of rates for lumbering operations, adoption of compassionate appointment regularization under SRO 43, revised operational plan for 2009-10, new sale policy and release of COLA.
The meeting decided to constitute a committee headed by Commissioner/Secretary Forest to look into the issues of employees of the corporation and submit its report along with the recommendations to the Chairman with two months.
