Governor administers oath to 8 Cabinet, 5 MoS

MOS: Ajaz, Manohar MOS with Independent Charge, Shabir, Nasir, Dar

The Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah Saturday expanded his ministry by inducting 13 new ministers. The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra at a function, held here at SKICC administered the oath of office and secrecy as Cabinet Ministers to Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon, Mr. R. S. Chib, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Miss Sakina Itoo, Mr. Raman Bhalla, Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik and Aga Syed Ruhulla. Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Khan and Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma were given oath as Ministers of State with Independent Charge while as Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani and Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar took oath as Ministers of State. The function among others was attended by the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, Union Ministers Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mr. Prthviraj Chawhan, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone, Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand, former Union Minister and President JKPCC, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz, Ministers Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather, Peerzada Mohammad Sayed, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Duin, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Mr. Surjit Singh Slathia, Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, Mr. A. S. Micky, legislators and senior civil and police officers. Later, the Council of Ministers had an informal meeting at the Civil Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah.
