The Assurance Committee which met at Srinagar today with M.Y Tarigami in chair, also sought details of 3000 posts for migrants, which is a part of PM’s Reconstruction package and stressed on working out transparent mechanism of recruitment so that the poor and most deserving migrants are benefited.
Stressing on speeding up the execution of the reconstruction package, the Chairman called for full and judicious utilization of funds so that the larger goal of rehabilitation of migrants is timely achieved. He said that it was appropriate time to move forward in this direction following favorable socio-political climate in the state.
The committee asked the government to recover Rs. 4 crore outstanding rent from the departments on account of use of evacuee property and sought detailed status report on the matter. He also called for taking effective measures to safeguard evacuee property.
The meeting was attended by legislators including Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Engineer Abdul Rashid and Prof. Bharat Bushan besides Financial Commissioner, Revenue, R.K Jerath, Secretary, Revenue, Aijaz Iqbal, Custodian General, Bashir Ahmad, Special Secretary, Revenue and other senior officers of Council Secretariat.
