With a mission to provide a conducive atmosphere to children to exhibit their creative abilities, KashmirUniversity at a high level meeting today decided to establish centre for creative arts (COCA) at NaseemBaghKashmirUniversity campus.
While chairing the core group meeting today Vice chancellor Kashmir University Prof Riyaz Punjabi today eulogized the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) for taking meaningful initiatives in bringing out and channelising the creative talent of the youth. INTACH it may be mentioned is collaborating with University of Kashmir for the establishment of the centre. The institute will come up in in alredy available small wooden barracks in natural setting in 4 canals of land at Naseem Bagh KU campus.

Saleem Beg Prof Anisa Shafi ,KU , M.Y.Darj Joint Director Heritage, Prof.S.Fayyaz Ahmad, M.K. Raina noted theater director and artist Dr. Aziz Hazini cultural activist , B.L. Zutshi ku consultant , Masood Hussain artist , Shaiqa Mala IMFA were present in the meeting.
VC said that the establishment of creative art centre and Institute of fine arts at KU will help a long way to revive the tradition of creative art among youth in Kashmir.
M Saleem Beg Convener INTAC said the last 2 decades have witnessed unprecedented violence and disruption in every aspect of life in Kashmir. Beg said that obviously the growth of the children was hampered impacting their psychological educational and physical processes of growth. Intac Convenor thanking VC for giving his nod to establishment of COCA at KU said that the centre will help children to give vent to their pent up feelings . Registrar KU said that the proposed Centre will primarily cater to the creative needs of youth in Kashmir .
