Clay modeling, poetry, painting competitions mark day 3rd of Sonzal at KU

Clay modeling, and painting competition, poetry recitation , marked day third of the Sonzal 2009 organized by Department of Students welfare , which kicked off at Kashmir University Friday last week. n the third day today number of students from university departments and affiliated collages participated in the clay modeling competition held at the fountain lawns of the university. Noted artist Niyaz Ahmad, Shaika Nohi, principal institute of music and fine arts(IMFA), and shabir mirza former principal (IMFA) were the experts present to evaluate the student works of art. In the poetry recitation competition held in the conference room of the centre for central Asian studies KU, the students wrote poetry on the various themes and later recited it in front of the subject experts drawn from various literay fields. . Prof Gulshan Majeed noted literary figure and former director CCAS personally supervised the event. Dean Students Welfare University of Kashmir Prof (Mrs) Nilofar Khan who monitored all the events expressed satisfaction at the student participation in these events and said that the enthusiasm of the students in literary and cultural events of Kashmir University is a pointer towards the interest KU is showing for the development of talent among youth under the leadership of our present Vice Chancellor. Assistant Dean students welfare Showkat shafi , Cultural officer Shahid Ali Khan and literary officer Shaheena Kanth were present with students.
