Inspects Mughal road, asks engineers to speed up the work
Minister for R&B, Mr. G.M Saroori laid foundation of 2 bridges and one road project coming up in Poonch district at total cost of Rs. 17.81 crore. MLA, Surankote, Choudhry Mohammad Aslam, MLC, Mr, Jahangir Mir, District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Mr. K.L.Khajuria and senior officers of the district were present on the occasion. The minister during his 2-days extensive tour of Poonch and Rajouri districts visited several far off places and inspected number of development works coming up in the twin districts. Apart from inaugurating Dhara Mohra suspension bridge completed at a cost of Rs. 1.91 crore, Mr. Saroori laid foundation of Kulani bridge being constructed at Nallah Mandi at a cost of Rs. 7.42 crore under Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) scheme which will benefit 25000 souls of 9 villages of the district Poonch. The Minister also laid foundation of Chandimarh- Dograin road being constructed under PMGSY at a cost of Rs. 5.57 crore and will provide road connectivity to 3000 souls on its completion. Mr. Saroori also laid foundation of Seri Khawaja bridge coming up at cost of Rs. 4.82 crore and would benefit to 1500o souls of 8 villages. The Minister while inspecting ongoing work of Mughal road asked the engineers to speed up the work so as to complete the ambitious project within stipulated time. He said that the people of both the regions are eagerly waiting for its completion, adding that the project once completed would offer greater employment opportunities to the jobless youth living alongside the road.
