NSUI State President tours South Kashmir

Delegates meet at Shopian

To take a stock of the student’s issues of the south Kashmir, NSUI State leadership conducted an extensive four days tour of Districts Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian. NSUI tem led by Mr. Rashid Choudhary State President NSUI visited the south kashmir region with the purpose of interaction with the youth and students of South KashmiR, listening to their problems and formation of units at block College and School level. Various delegate meetings were held at Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian. Students from the region came up with their issues and problems. Mr. Rashid Choudhary assured the participants that their demands would be raised with the concerned authorities. . Mr. Rashid Choudhary visited the Degree College at Anantnag and Shopian and urged the authorities for better facilities for the students. He said a lot is to be done to make these Colleges fully functional. Students complained of the shortage of teaching staff at the school and College level. Mr. Rashid Choudhary demanded better library collection, new laboratory equipments and sports material for the Colleges of south Kashmir. He was shocked to observe that no proper drinking water and toilet facilities were available for the strength of 1500 hundred students in GDC Shopian. A delegate meet was held in Shopian under the chairmanship of . Mr. Rashid Choudhary in which local students passed a resolution that Educational Institutes should be the first spots to be evacuated by the security forces and not the orchids and farm lands.Mr. Rashid Choudhary intracted a large no of youth and students from the region and invited them to join NSUI to make the hands of secular forces and Rahul Gandndhi more strong. He appealed them not to fall prey to the anti national forces. He further said that the greatest youth icon of our time, Sh. Rahul Gandhi can only solve the Kashmir issue, so we must join NSUI to become a part of the solution. On the occasion a large no of students joined NSUI. He assured them that NSUI would continue to fight for their cause. It is pertinent to mention here that this is for the first time since the Shopian turmoil of May-June 2009, that any politically backed organist ion has done some political activity in Shopian District. Others who spoke on the occasion are Rashid Ahmed Malik, Asad Mir, Aijaz Jan, Mubashir Bhat and Asyia Naz.
