KASHMIR: Police and security forces have neutralised 04 local terrorists including killer of Martyr SI Farooq Ahmad in two anti-terrorist operations carried out in Pulwama and Sopore. In Pulwama, acting on specific information input generated by Police regarding presence of terrorists in village Tujjan, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, Army (53RR) & CRPF (183Bn) in the said area. During the search operation, as the joint party approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated effectively leading to an encounter.
In the ensuing encounter, 02 terrorists of proscribed terror outfit JeM were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. They have been identified as Abid Ahmad Sheikh resident of Barpora Pulwama and Majid Nazir Wani resident of Banpora Ladoo Pampore. As per police records, both the killed terrorists were part of group involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on security forces and civilian atrocities. Besides, the killed terrorist Majid Nazir Wani was also involved in the killing of Martyr SI Farooq Ahmad.
Incriminating materials, huge cache of arms & ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation. Similarly in Sopore, based on specific input generated by Police regarding presence of terrorists in Tulibal area of Sopore, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, Army (52RR) and CRPF in the said area.
During the search operation, as the presence of terrorists got ascertained, they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated leading to an encounter. In the ensuing encounter, 02 terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. They have been identified as Zahid Ahmad Chopan resident of Tengwani Shopian and Mohd Youns Gul resident of Washbugh Pulwama.
As per police records, both the killed terrorists had joined terror folds recently. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 02 AK-47 rifles & 04 Magazines have been recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation.
IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar congratulated the joint teams for carrying out the anti-terrorist operations in professional manner without any collateral damage. He also appreciated the joint team for tracking & neutralizing the terrorist involved in the recent killing of police officer in Pulwama.
Regarding both the incidents, Police have registered cases under relevant sections of law and investigation has been initiated. People are requested to cooperate with Police till the areas are completely sanitized and cleared off of all the explosive materials, if any.
KASHMIR: Police & security forces have arrested a hybrid terrorist of proscribed terror outfit LeT in Baramulla besides, busted a terror module of terrorist outfit LeT by arresting 03 terrorist associates in Budgam. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition have been recovered from their possession.
In Baramulla, at about 1600hrs acting on specific information regards movement of terrorists; a joint checkpoint was established near Juhama crossing by Police and 52RR. During checking, movement of a suspicious person was noticed who tried to flee from the spot. However, the alert joint party apprehended him tactfully and was identified as Shahid Ahmad Parray son of Gh Ahmad Parray resident of Kathpora Hajin. On his personal search, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 pistol, 01 pistol magazine, 07 pistol rounds and 02 hand grenades were recovered from his possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was working as a hybrid terrorist linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT and was in an attempt to carry out terrorist activities in Baramulla Town and adjacent areas. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 107/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Baramulla and further investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, Police in Budgam alongwith 53RR and 181Bn CRPF busted a terror module of proscribed outfit LeT by arresting 03 terror associates identified as Ashiq Hussain Hajam son of Ghulam Mohd Hajam, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, both residents of Zuhama Chadoora and Tahir Bin Ahmed son of Ghulam Ahmed Hajam resident of Badipora Chadoora.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested trio was involved in facilitating transportation of terrorists, arms/explosive materials & providing logistic support to the active terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT in district Budgam.
Incriminating material, arms & ammunition including 01 Chinese Pistol, 02 Pistol magazines, 22 Pistol rounds, 01 AK magazine, 30 AK rounds have been recovered from their possession. Besides, 01 motorcycle (TVS Red colour) used in terror crimes bearing registration number JK01N-8067 has also been seized. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 114/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation is in progress.
KASHMIR: Acting tough against the supporters of terrorism, Police in Srinagar have attached 05 residential houses after obtaining legal sanctions from the competent authorities for wilful harbouring of terrorists.
The investigations proved beyond doubt that these houses were used for purpose of terrorism and shelter/harbour was voluntarily/knowingly given by the member(s) of the house. Many attacks on civilians, security forced were conspired and planned by terrorists while using these houses as hideouts.
The attached five residential houses include properties involved in Case FIR No. 257/2020 PS Parimpora (02 houses), Case FIR No. 132/2021 PS Panthachowk, case FIR No. 35/2021 PS Nowhatta, and Case FIR No. 02/2022 PS Zakoora. Some more such properties have been identified and any wilful harbouring will be dealt under law.
Citizens are once again requested not to harbour or give shelter to terrorists, failing which shall be liable to action under law including attachment proceedings. In case of any forced/coercive entry by terrorists into any house, the matter should be brought to the notice of Police immediately.
