BJP will hold Yog Day camp at 1500 places throughout UT of Jammu & Kashmir


JAMMU: Senior Leader of BJP J&K & Convenor International Yog Day celebration committee Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma said that BJP will hold yog day camp at 1500 places throughout the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He was addressing a press conference here at BJP headquarters. He further said that this number is beside other Yog Day programs being conducted by Govt Departments and volunteer organizations dedicated to spreading and promoting a yogic way of life, working for decades.

The sites chosen for holding these camps are heritage, historically important, or an area of newly undertaken development projects. He further said that it has been also decided to involve prominent citizens from different walks of life. The party has constituted 4 member committees at state levels, district levels & Mandal levels. The state-level committee includes me as a convenor, Smt. Anju Dogra & Sanjeev Manmotra as co-convenor.

The party has also added senior leaders like Smt. Priya Sethi, Manis Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Rakesh Gupta & Ved Prakash Sharma & undertook planning under the guidance of General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul to decide the places & in-charges of 1500 places for holding Yoga camps. The party has also deputed its members to join the programs being organized by other Yoga associations at different places.

Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma said that it is a matter of pride for us that in the year 2014 The Prime Minister of the country that a call given by Narendra Modi in the UN Assembly responded vehemently by all the participant countries who immediately accorded positive response and since that time 198 countries are celebrating yog day.

The party has decided to preach, promote, & project the yogic way of life to get rid of ailments of different kinds & also to improve physical & mental health. The practice of Yog is a boon for mental peace & tranquillity which will bring harmony & mutual tolerance to society.

These virtues are the need of the hour particularly in J&K UT. Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma appealed to all citizens of UT to celebrate the 8th International Yoga Day on the 21st of June at their nearest Yog camps or perform yoga at their homes, the way it was done during Covid time.
