Heartfulness Yoga and Meditation Centre organised “Happiness & Mind Regulation Workshop”

JAMMU: First Session of the “Happiness and Mind Regulation” workshop was held at ‘Sahaj Jeevan’ Ajit Colony Extn. The participants were given practical experience of Meditation with the help of Pranahuti,  the Yogic Transmission. The participants were first made to relax themselves in body and mind through the technique of Heartfulness relaxation by Dr. Kanti Rekha, Heartfulness trainer; followed by guided meditation led by Adarsh Sharma, Zonal Facilitator.

The participants were told to take a suggestion that divine light is already present in their hearts and they should feel it’s presence. They are not to focus on the light, nor try to see it but to feel it's presence. They are not to be discouraged by various thoughts arising during meditation but not to engage with them but simply ignore them. They should gently remind them that they are meditating and not to pay attention as paying attention  gives power to these thoughts.

After the session was over the participants shared their experience of feeling light and calm or of different thoughts arising during the sitting. They were told not to be discouraged by these thoughts arising during meditation as with the passage of time this cluttering of mind will stop and gradually they will reach a stage of silence and stillness and be in a state of thoughtless awareness. They were told to regularly sit for meditation practice at a fixed time and place in a comfortable posture with their eyes closed gently. The practice will make them live in the present moment free from past memories, hurts and future worries and fears.

Regular meditation practice on the heart helps to regulate mind and connect to the Ultimate Source in due Course of time. This helps in regulating mind and making it receptive to the transformative yogic energy increasing awareness, observation and bringing clarity of understanding and increasing efficiency. It transforms intellect into wisdom, expands consciousness and refines ego. It also increases focus, lessens stress, brings patience, tolerance and acceptance.

As stress is the root cause of a number of physical and mental ailments, it’s effective management by application of heartfulness tools makes the practitioner healthy in body and mind. What is needed for a good meditation is a heart full of love and devotion and purity of mind and body. If regular practice for three months doesn’t bring positive results, it means that something is wrong in the application of these tools.

In the second session they will be guided to the method of heartfulness cleaning which is nothing but removing the comlexities and impurities of the mind and detoxifying it of the emotional burden of hatred, jealousy, passion, anger, greed etc and freeing from past impressions, conditionings, reactiveness and habit pattern of mind and free it from slavery of wishes barring advancement. This makes the practicant pure, simple and rejuvenated.

After cleaning these participants will be introduced to  heartfulness prayer i. e. connecting to the inner Self. This ultimately reveals the truth of existence and discovery of lasting peace and unconditional happiness.
