Rs. 51.13 crore have been advanced by various financial institutions for establishing 4803 income generating units in Ganderbal district under action plan during 2008-09.
This information was revealed in District Consultative Committee meeting held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Mr. I.H. Bari.
Present in the meeting were Deputy General Manager, RBI, Mr. M.R. Garg, Officer Incharge NABARD, Mr. P.L. Nagi, Assistant Commissioner, Ganderbal and other officers.
The meeting was told that Rs. 16.31 crore were disbursed among 1155 trade and services units while Rs. 9.22 crore were disbursed to 906 agricultural units in the district. The meeting was told that under all government sponsored schemes financial institutions disbursed an amount of Rs. 3.99 crore to 683 beneficiaries in the district, registering achievement of 56% unit wise and 35% in financial terms by March this year.
The DDC stressed upon the sponsoring agencies and banks to speed up the process of flow of credit to needy people and ensure a hassle free procedure of loans to the beneficiaries.
