Minister for Animal Husbandry and Information Technology, Syed Aga Rohulla has asked officers to work with full dedication and responsiveness for speedier socio-economic transformation. “Officers must act as enthusiastic agents of social change,” he said.
Chairing a debut meeting of district officers, here today after assuming charge as Minister, Mr. Rohulla reminded the officers of their role in policy implementation and programme formulation. He said efficient functionaries earn legitimacy for the government while the non-performers create trust deficit between government and public, adding while the government would reward dedicated officers, the inefficient and deadwood will not be tolerated.
The minister directed for faster completion of under execution works and projects, asking District Development commissioner to monitor the projects personally on periodic basis.
He also asked the officers to keep time slots for listening people’s problems to ensure every genuine grievance is timely redressed. Mr. Rohulla said Budgam district despite having 30 years existence is still afflicted with economic backwardness and stressed the need for removing the same through constant efforts. He said the district must catch up with other areas of the state for all round progress and prosperity.
District Development Commissioner, Mr Mohammad Rafi presented a detailed resume of the development activities of the district, giving status of each work. All the district officers gave an account of their departmental working and assured him to speed up the pace to ensure expeditious completion of the projects.
