Consisting of 76 plots, the park is spread over 109 kanals of land, of which 28 plots have been already allotted to various manufacturing units. So far Rs. 5.63 has been received by the corporation as Centre and State shares, out of which an amount of Rs. 5.18 crore has been spent on various developmental works under execution in the park.
During the inspection, Mr. Slathia directed the concerned executing agency to accelerate the pace of work so that pending works could be complete within the fixed time frame. He issued instruction for early erection of compound wall, black topping of interior roads, drinking water infrastructure and improving the landscaping.
Managing Director, SICOP, Mr. Raman Soni apprised the Minister that the works pertaining to land development, road network and drainage system have been completed, besides progress has also been achieved in respect of power and water supply schemes which are being completed shortly. The work on construction of building of common facilities centre in the park is in full swing, the Minister was informed.
It was also informed that a meeting of project monitoring committee will be called shortly to decide about the allotment and handing over the possession of land to entrepreneurs so that they can start construction work of their sheds.
Later, the Minister chaired a joint meeting of SICOP officers and entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs projected a memorandum of demands which include waive off of interest on term loan, rehabilitation of sick industrial units, adequate power and water supply, installation of street lights in industrial area and shifting of security forces putting up in phase-1.
Mr. Slathia heard them sympathically and assured that their genuine problems would be looked into.
Earlier, the Minister visited Handloom Development Corporation at Rambagh and took stock of its working. He went round various sections of the corporation and expressed satisfaction over its functioning.
