Use quality material for longevity of projects: Speaker

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone today visited various areas of Sonawari constituency including Hakbara and Sumbal villages along-with Chief Engineer, PHE Mr. G. M. Dar. During his visit, the Speaker inspected some works under execution in the constituency. He directed the concerned to speed up the pace of all ongoing developmental works related to drinking water supply. Mr. Lone asked them to use standard material while executing schemes and called for people’s participation in execution of works so that the projects are executed as per public aspirations. Several deputations met the Speaker during his tour and apprised him about their individual and collective problems, which inter alia includes augmentation of water supply schemes and irrigation pumps. Mr. Lone heard them patiently and in some cases, he directed on the spot to the concerned for early action. While interacting with the people at different places, the Speaker said that the coalition government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of the state. He said providing drinking water facilities to the people is the top priority of the government adding that sufficient funds are being provided for the purpose.
