Health Minister, Sham Lal Sharma says that the move is aimed at bring transparency in departmental working
Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma today launched online information portal and website of health department, which can be accessed at (www.jkhealth.org) at a function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the website is unique in content in the entire state as it contains minute details about the health institutions, equipment, infrastructure and manpower available. He said people can know on a click the profiles of doctors, specialist surgeons and services available in any of the hospitals in the state.
Terming the development as a milestone in the history of Health Department, Sham said the step would bring revolution in transparency and accountability and streamlining the working of the department. He said the launch of website was in line with the modern requirements of the people, who are increasingly going tech-savy.
The surfing of website, he said will help the people to save their resources and guide them in availing proper treatment facilities. He said with the up gradation of health infrastructure in almost every health institution, the people can opt for a hospital of their choice for speedy treatment of the sick.
The Minister asked the concerned to update the portal constantly and ensure free flow of information from all quarters. He called for wide publicity of the website so that people everywhere come to know about it.
Calling upon the doctors to work with devotion, the Minister reminded them about their subtle nature of duties. He said the doctors are held in high esteem in the society and they need to strive to maintain their professional dignity. Sham also thanked all those who have contributed in preparing the website by their hard toil.
Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Javid Ahmad Dar, Director, Health Services, Jammu/Kashhmir, Director, ISM, Chief Medical Officers, Medical Officers and other senior officers of Health department were present on the occasion.
