Roots of democracy, socialism, secularism affirm in the state: Bhalla

Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla has said that the coalition government headed by Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah is committed for overall development equally in all the three regions of the state. He said that massive developmental and welfare programmes are under implementation for the benefit of the people living in nook and corner of the state.

Mr. Bhalla was addressing a congregation of All Kashmiri Sikh Samiti during his maiden visit to North Kashmir at Baramulla today. The Minister said that the roots of democracy, social and secularism are affirm and every effort would be made to safeguard the composite culture and nobody will be allowed to disturb the communal harmony.

Mr. Bhalla said that the dream of UPA, Chairperson, Madam Sonia Ji and Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh to develop the state as role model will be fulfilled. Both the leaders have soft corner for the people of J&K and have funded liberally in every sector. The Minister said that the government will take necessary steps to overcome the un-employment problem and make every endeavor to upliftment the lot of poor people. He said that the Prime Minister’s Special Package for Kashmiri Migrants will be implemented in letter and spirit and every section of the society will notice affective change in the times to come.

The Minister said that the chugging of rail in the state was a milestone in the history of state adding that the rail service has given Philip to the state’s economy besides mitigating the problems of people living in far-off areas.

The Minister said that the people will be provided transparent administration, good governance and accountability in every respect adding that officers would be made answerable of all developmental activity.

He said that the government is aware of the hardships faced by the people and is determined to mitigate these in a phased manner.

The Minister said that the officers have been directed to be people-friendly and have their problems solved and grievances redressed. It has been stressed upon the administration to come up to the expectations of the people and ensure that the people may not suffer any more as they have suffered a lot during turmoil.

Mr. Bhalla in reply to a memorandum regarding issuance of state subject certificates and backward certificates to minorities, land for minority community hall, implementation of 15 point Prime Minister’s Minority Welfare Programe, allotment of cremation site, non issuance of BPL cards presented by the Samiti assured them that their genuine demands will be given due consideration. Mr. Bhalla said that for the issuance of state subject certificates one has to complete same formalities throughout the state are same.

The Minister sought people’s cooperation in implementation of state and centrally sponsored schemes in the state as initiated by the government.

Earlier, the Minister was given warm welcome and presented a shawl by the All Kashmiri Sikh Samiti.

Besides Congress Vice President Kashmir Province, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Monga and other Sikh leaders also addressed the gathering and assured full cooperation to the government. District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Mr. Latif-u-Zaman Deva and various senior officers of the district were also present.
