It is nearly after seven years that Doordarshan authorities have revived commissioning of Programmes for DD Kashir. After proper scrutiny the DD authorities have approved proposals of more than 400 proposals which include around 150 proposals from Kashmir based private producers. The fact remains that for the 1^st time , almost entire genuine producers who are exclusively dependent on TV productions have been assigned projects and the artist community in General appreciate the efforts of DD authorities and congratulate the Present DG Doordarshan Ms. Ms Aruna Sharma & Senior Director DD Kashir Ms. Annanya Banerjee for completion of the process in a transparent & fair manner.

Unfortunately a vicious & false media campaign has been launched by a Jammu based newspaper targeting Kashmir based producers of a particular community. Although nearly 250 people have been selected from Jammu and other parts of the country, there is no whisper about those beneficiaries. It has been observed since last many years , a section of the Jammu press always targets the interests of a particular community of Kashmir by projecting it as iniquitous. For this purpose black sheep are being hired to malign Kashmiris and whenever there is any Govt. policy aimed at benefiting Kashmiris, these people are activated to stall any such process. The overt and covert activities of these people have always been directed at sabotaging the cause of Kashmir based professionals.

Now that Doordasrshan authorities under the able guidance of the present I&B Minister Mrs. Ambikas Soni and leadership of the present DG Ms. Aruna Sharma were busy in putting the defunct Kashir Channel back on rails, these elements have been activated to damage the cause of Kashmir based professionals. It is worth mentioning that thousands of people are likely to be benefited directly or indirectly by the current commissioning. Any attempts to derail this process will mean loss to thousands of people associated with this industry. A sustained media campaign has been launched from Jammu to make the channel defunct again. It is worth mentioning that during last seven years Delhi based production houses got programmes worth crores of rupees from Kashir Channel leaving the local professionals without any work . This time again efforts are being made to discredit a genuine & transparent commissioning started by Doordarshan authorities. Activities by vested interests are afoot to render local professionals, who have invested huge amounts in raising the basic infrastructure, once again jobless.

It is worthwhile to mention that a few persons, behind this false and misleading media campaign being carried through some Jammu based papers against a particular community of Kashmir based producers are themselves the beneficiaries of Doordarshan and have got projects worth lakhs of rupees in the past and were the contenders this time also. They have also got projects worth lakhs of rupees from State Govt depts. by making USAGE of their media connections.

We accordingly request all Newspapers and other media persons not to fell prey to such misleading and false propaganda being carried by these vested interests and instead everybody is welcome to ascertain the facts by going through the details and contribution of the persons who have been assigned these projects.

We also request the worthy journalist community of Kashmir to give a thought to the fact as to why only Kashmir based professionals are targeted again and again while as there is no whisper against nearly 250 producers that got selected from Jammu and other parts of the country.
