Police resorted lathi-charge on the Agriculture technocrats who have been sitting on fast unto death at Press Club here today. The trouble started when these technocrats were making an attempted to take out a rally to reach to Civil Secretariat but were prevented by police at BC Road from marching ahead. The protesters were shouting slogans against the government in support of their demand of regularization.
The Agriculture technocrats were prevented by the police to take out the rally and lathicharged them back to Press Club from Jewel Chowk.
Their President said that Minister for Agriculture, G H Mir had assured technorates at Srinagar on 31st of July that they will be regularlised within a month’s period but the was not fulfilled, he grieved.
He also said that the technorates will continues their agitation till their demand met. Their fast unto death completed 12th day today.
