Its General Secretary, Om Parkash, while addressing the protestors said that the sharp rise in prices of essential commodities has broken the back of the general masses especially working class and low income group population. Urging upon the Central as well as State governments to take immediate steps to bring down the prices of daily need, he said that the situation need to be dealt on war footing.
Its Working President, said that the labour laws be strictly enforced and the violators be taken to task by the administration.
Stressed that National Social Security Fund be created to provide for National Floor Level Social Security to all unorganized sector workers including the contractual/casual workers in line with the recommendations of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour.
Sham Prasad Kesar, Pawan Gupta and other leaders affiliated with CITU also addressed the protestors and warned the Central Government to desist from Disinvestment of Central Puplic Sector Undertakings (CPSU’s) which is bound to destroy the security of the working class people engaged in these CPSU’s.
