Anganwari workers stage protest demonstration in Jammu
A protest demonstration under the banner of J&K Anganwari Workers & Helpers Association was held at Jammu today in-front of Press Club Jammu against the State Government demanding fulfillment of their demands which are pending for the last five years. They demanded immediate solution of the demands like enhancement of their wages from state share at par with Central Government share and declaration of promotion list of supervisors, Implementation of contributory pension scheme, Anganwari Bheema Yojna, Release of Wages of Anganwari Workers and Helpers of Rajouri and Poonch from 2006 as per the Directions of the Hon’ble Court, Timely release of rent of the centers, transfers of over due staff members posted in various District Head quarters and CDPO Blocks who are creating problems for the workers without further delay and Amendment in recruitment rules of both Gazzetted and Non/Gazzetted should be made. While addressing Dharna veteran Trade Union Leader Mr. Mohammed Gafoor Dar State President of Workers Union Condemned the delaying policy of the state Government and Social Walfare department who have miserably failed to settle the demands of working women in the ICDS. Mr. Gafoor Dar and Suman Suri Vice President warned the Government that further delay in solution of demands will force the 52 thousand Workers and Helpers of the state to launch a state wide united action with the slogan of “JAMMU CHALLO” on January 2010 for fulfillment of the demands and other senior most leaders of workers and Helpers who addressed the Dharna
