J&K Pensioners Association holds protest against government
Criticizing the indifferent attitude of the government towards the pensioners of the state the J&K Pensioners Association held a protest in-front of Divisional Commissioners office under the leaderships of Ram Sharma. The Association members demanded that arrears of revision of pension be paid in one installment, enhancement of Medical Allowance and release of D.A arrears. That the amount of computation of pension granted be recovered from the state pensioners in 10 years instead of 15 years. The Association also demands that the order of withholding Gratuity and computation pension in respect of the state pensioners who are retiring on or after 01.07.2009 be revoked immediately and the same be paid to the dated pensioners as usual. That Government order no. 216-F of 2009 dated 34.09.2009 be amended to the extent that the provision of 50% of the Revised pay Band/scale be restricted to basic pension only and full pay be substituted in Para (a) and (b) of cause III basic Government order no. 86-F dated 15.04.2009 instead of 50% Grade pay. The provision of proportionate pension for not qualifying 33 years of service be done away with. Besides above the provision of proportionate pension applying to pre-01.01.2006 pensioners should also be removed. Disparity between minimum of the Revised pay/Band in respect of brand II,III and IV be rationalized judiciously as there is alarming difference in the initial of pay Brand/scales.
