JKSACS employees demand regularization

In response to the country-wide strike call given by the President, National AIDS Control Employees Union, the indefinite strike of the field staff employees of J&K State AIDS Control Society (JKSACS) across the state entered third day today.

Their demands include salary of employees at par with the central government employees with all facilities, TA/DA etc, pay benefits right from April 2006 as par recommendation of sixth pay commission, insurance facility, CPF, maternity leave, medical leave, special incentives for highly qualified non technical employees like M. Phil, PhD, implementation of all guidelines of national AIDS control organization.

President of the association regretted that though the state government has regularized the services of employees serving on contractual basis for seven years or above but employees working for the control of fatal disease like HIV/AIDS are one of the lowest paid.
