Gujjar youth from Poonch in Congress national body

Shahnawaz appointed All India General Secretary NSUI

Mohd. Shahnawaz Choudhary, State Vice President, National Students Union of India (NSUI) J&K, the student wing of Congress party, has been appointed as All India General Secretary of NSUI in New Delhi. He has been appointed to the post by Sh. Hibi Eden, National President NSUI with the approval of Sh. Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary AICC, Incharge NSUI and Ms Meenakshi Natrajan AICC Secretary, Incharge NSUI. He has been selected for the post along with Amrita Dhawan, former elected President Delhi University; Ragni Nayak former elected president Delhi University and Anand Pandey, a student leader from JNU.

Mohd. Shahnawaz is the only face representing the North India at this position and the youngest member of the NSUI National team. His selection is a result of the efforts of Sh. Rahul Gandhi to bring the dynamic youth into the National body.

Mohd. Shahnawaz has been found apt for the chair of the All India General Secretary by Sh. Rahul Gandhi through the special Talent Hunt Program launched by Sh. Rahul Gandhi to attract the best youth in NSUI. He along with many other student leaders underwent a screening by a specially appointed screening committee and was personally interviewed by Sh. Rahul Gandhi twice before being inducted in the National body.

Mohd. Shahnawaz Choudhary Son of Sh. Haq Nawaz Choudhary a dedicated police officer belonging to Gujjar community, hails from far flung area of Surankote, Poonch J&K and recently graduated in Law from University of Jammu. He has been associated to NSUI for last 8 years and has served the organization at different posts with dedication and hard work. He created a prominent place in the organization with his dedication and hard work as Jammu University Vice President, State Secretary, State General Secretary, State Vice President and Incharge JU and has remained a dedicated student leader throughout his career. Being a social worker he has been a recipient of many awards and honours. He is also the founder president of Society for Justice Awareness and Deliverance (SJAD) a law based NGO working in the insurgency hit state of Jammu and Kashmir.

This is for the first time that a person from Jammu and Kashmir has been inducted at such a high position in NSUI National body earlier, two student leaders from J&K have served as Secretaries in the National body of NSUI.

Shahnawaz Choudhary has posted faith in the leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Sh. Rahul Gandhi and Sh. Hibi Eden.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the State President, NSUI, Sh. Rashid Choudhary in Jammu, in which a resolution was passed to welcome the decision of Sh. Rahul Gandhi and Sh, Hibi Eden about the inclusion of Shahnawaz in NSUI National body.

Sh. Rashid Choudhary described the induction of Shahnawaz Choudhary as All India General Secretary as a ray of hope for the youth and expressed gratitude to Sh. Rahul Gandhi and Sh. Hibi Eden for given Jammu and Kashmir a representation in the National body.
