On Children’s Day, the celebrations were organized by Human Welfare Voluntary Organization and program was conducted so as to give a special feel to the special children that they are being cared of and the society has to and is their is to care and respect them. The program was attended by the children of the school who had real lots of fun from start till the end of the program, all the participants were welcomed by special children namely Zubair Ahmed and later on the musical dance and Rhymes were beautifully articulated by the children of the school, which showed the high dedication of the special educators who teach these kids and they have exhibited the same in great coordination and control. Different games namely Packing Competition, Musical Chair, Tug of War and Drawing Competition were conducted to build the sense of competition and moreover to boost up their morale prizes were distributed among all the particip
ants, “these games help in the enhancement of their fine motor skills and their physical strength” said by therapy team.
The special educators of the school said,” we must organise such events frequently so as to build the confidence among the special children, also to create mass awareness about the same and bring special children to mainstream”.
The head of LHCCC said ,”that govt. needs to take up the issue of physically and mentally challenged seriously, and chalk out some concrete plans for the same and take the responsibility of the special children and also facilitate the existing schools being run by the Non govt. organisations in the state”.
Feroze Ahmed (Head HWVO) on the occasion said that the intention to do such activities is to give a message to the society that it is the responsibility of the community and the community based inclusive approach needs to be put in place for the sustainable help of such children and also people should realize that yes, we have such children in the society and the mechanism for their care and needs has to be build for the future and also identify such kids in the community so that they are given pre vocational and vocational trainings instead of forcing such to stay at homes or waste their life in trying to compete with the rest of the kids. The govt has the major role to play when there is the disability law in place then other measures for the inclusion of such in the mainstream needs to be taken up by the govt and non govt agencies and also in all the programs the inclusion of the such has to be made mandatory.
The Program was closed with the valedictory Function where in the all the students of the school were felicitated and the 4 departments of the special school viz, Therapy, School, Administration and Maintenance were felicitated for the exceptional good work all of them are doing.
