Jammu Police facilitates children

On occasion of the Children’s Day, today 14th November, Jammu Police organized visits of school children to Police Stations Miran sahib and Bishnah in order to familiarize and acquaint them with the police functioning.

About 60 children of Gandhi Memorial School, Miran Sahib visited Police station Miran sahib and interacted with the staff of the police station and went around the various branches of the police station. During the visit, the children expressed keenness in the way police works for the safety and security of the citizens. Adapting role playing model, a couple of children were made SHO of the Police station and they presided over the police work for couple of hours. This made the children aware of the various dimensions of police working and brought them closer to the police, which is meant to be their protector especially youth, who are the future of our nation. Thereafter, they were given briefing by the SDPO R S Pura, Sh P.S. Katoch, DySP and SHO Miran sahib, Sub. Insp. Paramjeet Singh. The officers briefed them about the police working and made them cognizant about juvenile crimes and its prevention and appealed to them to respect law, remain vigilant, stay away from drugs and psychotropic substances and concentrate on studies for a bright and secure future. They were appealed to remain friends of police and help Police.

Similar visit was conducted in Police Station Bishnah where 50 students of Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School, Bishnah visited the Police station for a first hand experience of Police station and its working. SHO P/S Bishnah Insp. Rajinder Bhardawaj conducted the visit of the school children.

Jammu Police shall continue the endeavour to conduct such visits regularly in order to bring the children closer to police so that they respect and not fear the law and law enforcing agencies.
