AJABM holds protest against Govt move

Hundreds of Anusuchit Jaati Aarakshan Bachao Manch (AJABM) activists today held protest outside the office of Divisional Commissioner against NC-Congress coalition government’s move to ban Inter-District Recrutment in the state.

Its Spokesman Bali Bhagat, former MLA & SC leader, while addressing the protestors said that the government has adopted anti-SC attitude because of its reported move to ban Inter-District Recruitment. He said such a move if implemented, will not allow any member of the SC community to apply for reserved seats in district other than that of his or her residence.

He said the proposal is infact an unfortunate, uncalled for, ill-conceived, rather intentionally designed and calculated move to deprive the SC communities in particular and also the other reserved categories equally of their reservation benefits under the existing reservation rules as guaranteed by the constitution in respect of recruitments, appointments and selections where under any SC candidates or any other reserved class candidate stood entitled to apply for any reserved vacancy any where or in any district of the State irrespective of his being from any district /province of the state; being a state subject.

He also declared that the Manch activists will submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister in the coming days and if the government still remains adamant, it will organize protests and took out rallies in other districts at Tehsil level.

MLAs Bharat Bhushan, Prof. Gharu Ram and Jagdish Raj Sapolia, on this occasion, assured that they will raise the issue in the next session of the assembly and urged all the elected representatives from all the political parties to come under the banner of Manch and unitedly register resentment against the move.

Bhagat, Hem Raj Fonsa, Puran Chand, Dina Nath Bhagat, Dev Raj Panch, Krishan Lal, Parshotam Kumar, Meera Samral, Sansar Chand, Faqir Chand Azad, Gulab Chand also addressed the dharna.
