Home Guards demand regularization

All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association has urged the government that they should either be regularized or absorbed in other forces wherever and whenever vacancies appear.

In a press statement it said that they are fully trained like the belt force personnel and have been serving round the clock like other personnel.

It alleged that the government instead of regularizing their services is going on with fresh recruitments in Home Guard and Fire Brigade.

The president of the Association Kamla Sharma said that despite serving dedicatedly like the belt force personnel they are paid for only 10 days a month which works out a meager 410 Rs. The Association said that it is in the interest of the government that they should be absorbed instead of making fresh recruitment as they are already trained.
