Reportedly the lecturers in all the three regions of the state assembled at respective district HQs and registered their protest and submitted memorandums the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah through deputy commissioners by the respective district presidents of the Forum for his intervention.
Their demands include regularization of 4000 incharge lecturers, 500 principals and higher officers, benefit of running pattern as announced by the Ex-Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad and the change of pay Band in favour of cadre in accordance with the recommendations of S.L Bhatt committee constituted for the purpose in the state.

At Srinagar Malik Mohammed Usman, President Kashmir province led the lecturers and handed over memorandum to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. While addressing the gathering the leaders criticized the government for its partial and biased attitude and took a pledge to further intensify their struggle for their rights and also warned for the consequences if situation takes an ugly turn.
H.D Qureshi, the State President of the Forum blamed government to force the lecturers to boycott the classes and protests.
He expressed his surprise that even after one decade the 400 lecturers are facing agony despite assurances, commitments and announcements from highest authorities of the state. On change of pay band Mr. Qureshi expressed that the designs of state Government are exposed on the issuance of its orders in favour of a section of doctors while neglecting lecturers.
He also disclosed that the Forum will further intensify its struggle and can go-to any extent if the government continues with its delay tactics.
